Even when a purchase is declined, cardholders will still see the charge on their credit card statements, for a few business days, in the form of a "hold" or "pending transaction."
This is because making a purchase with a credit card - online or otherwise - is actually a two-step process.
Once your credit card information is filled in on our order form and "submitted," Step 1 of the credit card purchase process verifies that the account in use is valid and that sufficient funds are available to cover the transaction's cost. At this step, the funds are "held" by the bank and deducted from the cardholder's available balance, but are not yet transferred to Lime Wire.
We aim to stop unauthorized purchases at this step. To protect against fraud and identity theft, The Lime Wire Store declines purchase attempts if the additional information (name, street address, etc) filled in on the order form does not match up with what is on file for the card. This is what has happened when you see a "Declined" error message.
As mentioned before, declined purchases still result in a temporary "hold" on the card in the amount of the purchase price. This hold will expire on its own within a few business days (typically 3-5), and the money will then be returned to your card's available balance - it will *not* become a permanent charge. If you were in front of the computer at the time of the declined purchase and know that this is what has happened, please understand that the purchases were indeed "declined," and check your account balance again in a few business days to verify that the holds have expired.
Please note that the exact amount of time this process takes is determined by individual banks and credit card companies. We apologize for this inconvenience, but the Lime Wire Store cannot assist you with this process, or speed it up in any way. Please contact the issuer of your card to find out more about your bank's policies."
